Project Summary

The project was intended to set the design standard for future development in the newly formed business park. Integrated Project Delivery, using extensive BIM modeling and input from owner’s representatives and the builder early in the design process, allowed all parties to discuss the true cost/benefit of design decisions. This collaborative process resulted in an accelerated project schedule.

Member confidentiality and information security dictate the positioning of community and common spaces, as well as departmental adjacencies, throughout the three story structure. Bold geometries and finishes at high impact areas give a sense of importance without straining the project budget. Sweeping curves at primary access and transition areas emphasize a fluid progression throughout the building. Interior spaces accommodate a total reuse of existing furniture, fixtures and equipment. Careful placement of window areas allows for first cost and over-time energy savings. LED lighting and a variable refrigerant flow HVAC system help this building exceed required California Title 24 energy use goals by 21.7%. The Valley Strong Credit Union Administrative Office Building is a representation to the community of a leaner, innovative, member centered organization.
