Project Summary
Due to a capital campaign by the school, a donation was made to help fund the construction and Ordiz Melby Architects transitioned to the actual design phase of the pool.
Currently under construction and slated to open in December 2010, the pool is 25 yards by 30 meters. It will have 10 lanes for practice and competition swimming, along with two 1-meter diving boards. Future plans call for a possible 3-meter diving board. The pool and infrastructure have been designed and built to accommodate this in the diving program. Water polo will also be played in the pool.
The pool deck has been designed to accommodate swimmers, coaches, and spectators comfortably.
uth West Baseball and is sponsored by Aera Energy LLC. The park sits at the corner of Jewetta Avenue and Stockdale Highway. The complex consists of 11 baseball diamonds of varying sizes, including at least three lighted diamonds, spectator stands, a concession stand, restrooms, equestrian and bike trail staging areas, and parking accommodations.
