Project Summary

Aera Park, a planned 40-acre youth baseball facility, was designed and documented by a specialized team of sports facilities designers headed by CMX Sports Engineers and included Rossetti & Associates, Ordiz-Melby Architects, Inc., EPT Landscape Architects, and the City of Bakersfield.

It is operated by South West Baseball and is sponsored by Aera Energy LLC. The park sits at the corner of Jewetta Avenue and Stockdale Highway. The complex consists of 11 baseball diamonds of varying sizes, including at least three lighted diamonds, spectator stands, a concession stand, restrooms, equestrian and bike trail staging areas, and parking accommodations.

The park also serves as a recharge basin in times of excess rain and can be used as a storm control measure. During non-baseball hours, Aera Park will be used passively.
