Ms. Bertolaccini brings over 30 years of architectural experience in many architectural sectors including Medical, Commercial and Educational. As a firm principal she leads a Studio in charge of the firms most complex medical and commercial projects while her experience also includes several specialized educational projects.
As an owner’s representative she understands the financial and practical implications of her architectural decisions. In addition to her significant technical capabilities, she is often sought out for her skills in interior finish and furniture selections. She has an experienced eye for color and an impressive knowledge of material properties and durability.
Jeannie enjoys sharing her design passion with the community by mentoring high school students at the Independence High School Energy Academy. She has participated in the advisory council for Bakersfield College’s Architecture program and is active in the local American Institute of Architect Golden Empire Chapter as the 2018- and 2021-Chapter President. She is a founding member of the Kern County Women in STEM and a board member of the Kern Economic Development Foundation. Jeannie displays her enthusiasm for sharing the career of architecture with youth of all ages by visiting classrooms and participating in career day expositions.

Rob Trost, AIA has a wide range of architectural experience. With over forty years of experience in architectural design for both public and private sectors, he presents a confidence to his clients that their project will receive the benefit of his knowledgeable attention and care.
Ordiz-Melby, Inc. is enriched by his vast experience and thorough understanding of the regulatory process. Rob’s calm demeanor and comprehensive grasp of how buildings are designed, documented and built allow him to instill confidence in both builders and clients. His communication skills and attention to the client needs makes him a valuable asset to the firm.
Rob is very active with the Boy Scouts of America and is active in the local American Institute of Architect Golden Empire Chapter. Rob is the 2017 Chapter President for the Golden Empire Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Varner brings to Ordiz-Melby Architects experience gained from 45 years of architectural practice in a variety of concentrations. His experience ranges from the construction perspective to partner of an architectural firm, resulting in strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of what large projects require to be successfully realized. Most recently, Mr. Varner’s experience revolved extensively around community college and High School projects including new building additions and master planning of campuses.
Mr. Maldonado’s career has been passionately focused on serving the needs of the educational community. He has a wide range of educational experience, projects as small as a classroom addition to a full comprehensive educational facility. He brings with him fresh educational design ideas, along with the knowledge of a LEED® AP in the areas of sustainable design. As a principal he will lead the firms design philosophy and continue to expand the ideas that support the ever-changing needs or our clients. Manuel’s passion, dedication and commitment are traits that will ensure an innovative solution to each design opportunity.
Manuel has a history of active involvement with Rotary clubs in both Earlimart and Bakersfield as past President and Board Secretary, respectively. He was the pro-bono designer and a strong advocate for the development of the first community park in Earlimart, “Rotary Park”. He continues his community involvement through the American Institute of Architects as a member and a past president.
Mr. Zasoski grew up around construction. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California with both a professional degree in Architecture and a minor in Business Administration. His natural curiosity and his strong desire to learn, have helped him quickly become an integral part of the OMA team. He is always striving to better understand how various systems work and how new found knowledge can be used to help our processes and our clients. He brings a strong work ethic along with youthful energy and talent to Ordiz-Melby Architects, Inc.
Joseph is actively involved with the Bakersfield Young Professionals and has spoken to numerous classroom groups about architecture and construction.
Mr. Ordiz has spent over 30 years working to solve the architectural challenges of institutional clients throughout Central California. He has actively participated in the design of many of the educational projects built in Kern County within the last 20 years. As a leader in energy and environmental design as a LEED® Accredited Professional, he is familiar with all the sustainability considerations that have become important issues in the design of schools. Day lighting, energy-efficient systems, and proper site planning are some of the recent concepts used in today’s school designs.
Through his experience, Mr. Ordiz has learned that communication between clients, building users, and architect is a critical factor in any successful project. He believes that a firm’s principal should have hands-on involvement in all phases of an architectural project. He is dedicated to fostering a strong line of communication between client and architect so that clients can be assured that their needs will be met.
Mr. Ordiz has been recognized for his leadership in several civic and community groups and served as the President of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
